Hotels Fight Back as Confidence Falls
Scores of small hotels throughout the midlands are offering discounts of up to 70 per cent as occupancy levels tumble by almost a third, a survey reveals. Many owner-managed businesses are at risk as a crisis of confidence sweeps across the hotel industry with jobs and profits under increasing threat, it is claimed.
Matthew Maxwell, chief executive of survey organisers, hospitality software company Amateo, said: current business for hotels in the Midlands has already suffered due to the foot and mouth crisis.
